Employee Spotlight: Christian Hunt
Tell us about yourself and how long you've been with Optimal Dynamics.

I am a Platform Solutions Engineer here at Optimal Dynamics and I’ve been at the company since August 2025. My professional background includes many industries including healthcare, warehouse management, and even web design.
Can you briefly summarize your job?
If I had to describe my job using a movie title, it would be Apollo 13. It’s not that I am actively saving lives or putting men in space, it's that I feel that I am constantly problem solving and working on complex customer solutions. My job is to act as the technical expert for our customers' requests. Although I am confident my team can always find a solution that works for our customers, it does feel like I'm in outer space at times with how complicated the industry is.
What inspired you the most to join Optimal Dynamics?
I have Dr. Warren Powell to thank for the inspiration to join OD. I read one of his textbooks for a Logistics Engineering course in college and saw that he was a core member of this organization.
What do you like best about our company culture?
I love the fact that I have clearly defined responsibilities and that I am also given the flexibility to improve processes outside of my scope of work. Instead of being shackled by red tape and governance, I am given the tools to make my role a success.
What is unique about what we do at Optimal Dynamics?

We are solving a 100-year old problem, armed with 40 years of research, with 70 of the brightest minds in the industry.
What is your favorite part of your job?
Based on the work I tend to gravitate towards, my favorite part of the job is building out tools and agents on top of the core work responsibilities.
How does your work impact our product, and, therefore, the industry?
My work is the technical side of customer service. When a customer needs something fixed, my team is there to help design it, build it, and test it.
What have been your biggest accomplishments on our team, and what was the impact on the company?
My accomplishments can be represented by the successful project rollouts for TLD Logistics and Dutch Maid Logistics. As of this writing, these are two of OD’s highest adopting customers and excellent case study candidates. A recent side project I loved was creating Dispatch Rush, an arcade-style game where people compete against our optimization engine to plan trucks and loads, and see how much better network-wide decisions can be.
How have you grown professionally while on our team?

My technical skills have grown 10-fold since joining OD and my ability to explain complex concepts has grown significantly as well
What do you like to do in your free time?
Most of my free time is spent playing beach volleyball. I plan on playing everyday until my body gives out.
Can you share a hidden talent no one knows about you?
I’m an all-star on a trivia team. Unless it’s sports, then I’m deadweight.
What's the best advice you can give to someone who wants to work at Optimal Dynamics?
Be someone I would want to hang out with. It makes it a lot harder to work with you, if I would avoid you in a public place.
