Employee Spotlight: Kenzi Klein
Tell us about yourself and how long you’ve been with Optimal Dynamics.
I’m Kenzi and I’ve been with Optimal Dynamics for 3.5 years. I live in Columbus, OH with my wheaten terrier, Teddy. Go Buckeyes!
Can you briefly summarize your job?
As the Chief of Staff, I work with our executive team to ensure Optimal Dynamics runs as efficiently as possible. I am responsible for monitoring company and team performance, aligning staff and departments, managing communication, streamlining workflows, and executive-level planning. An especially fun part of my job includes planning and executing our internal and go-to-market company events!
What inspired you the most to join Optimal Dynamics?
Prior to joining Optimal Dynamics, I was an operator in the brokerage and TMS spaces for over 8 years. During that time, I witnessed countless inefficiencies and the lack of technology in truckload logistics. Optimal Dynamics is changing the way the trucking industry makes decisions, and I wanted to be a part of that.
What do you like best about our company culture?
The people!!! Everyone at Optimal Dynamics genuinely wants each other and the company to succeed. We are a group of incredibly smart and open-minded individuals, which makes my job fun and rewarding.
What is unique about what we do at Optimal Dynamics?
With Optimal Dynamics, it’s easy to make a complex decision. For example, it may sound simple to assign a driver to a load, but it turns into a complex task when you consider every single decision factor: PTO, HOS, live/drop, not-yet-tendered freight, positioning of each driver in the network, RPM, deadhead, the list goes on. The Optimal Dynamics engine takes all available factors into account, and spits out a simple decision for an operator to select.
What is your favorite part of your job?
Again, the people! I’m lucky that I get to work across all teams on a daily basis. And if not with each team member directly, I’m working on something that impacts them.
How does your work impact our product, and, therefore, the industry?
The more effectively Optimal Dynamics operates as a company, the stronger our product becomes, ultimately allowing our solution to make an incredible impact on the industry.
What have been your biggest accomplishments on our team, and what was the impact on the company?
I planned and executed our first ever Optimal Dynamics User Conference in 2024, and it was a huge success. We brought our customers and prospective customers together in one place to learn from each other, learn from our team, and have fun! In 2025, we’re heading to a 157-year old dude ranch, and I can’t wait to see the Optimal Dynamics community come together again.
How have you grown professionally while on our team?
I joined Optimal Dynamics as a Customer Success Manager and worked to build out the CS team for over a year. This allowed me to learn our customer journey and the product inside and out. From there, I was asked to move into a business operations role, which brought me to the Chief of Staff role two years later. Serving as Chief of Staff is perfect for me. I get to be involved in, influence, and impact how our company operates and performs.
What do you like to do in your free time?
When I’m not walking my dog, I’m usually playing pickleball! I was able to incorporate pickleball into our first company-wide offsite, and I aim to do that every year going forward. :)
Can you share a hidden talent no one knows about you?
I am very good at euchre. I was in a 150-team league in Chicago and won the end-of-season tournament.
What’s the best advice you can give to someone who wants to work at Optimal Dynamics?
Join Optimal Dynamics with an open mind. We are surrounded by such extensive knowledge and experience that it’s imperative that we learn from each other and evolve together.
